The Board of Barber Examiners registers those individuals who are qualified by education and experience to perform hair braiding and licenses all barbers, barber assistants, barber colleges, and barber instructors. Periodic inspections are made of every barber shop and barber school in South Carolina. Additionally, the Board receives and investigates complaints and follows through with appropriate actions against those who violate Barber laws and regulations. These are all documents relating to the Board of Barber Examiners.

    Licensee renewal dates
    (2024-03-25) South Carolina Board of Barber Examiners
    Licensees may renew their license during open renewal. Failure to renew their license prior to the deadline, will result in a lapse license. A registered barber or a registered apprentice whose certificate of registration has expired may have the certificate reinstated immediately upon payment of the required reinstatement fee. The holder of a registration to practice hair braiding shall renew his or her registration by paying the renewal fee.
