Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation

The South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation promotes the health, safety and economic well-being of the public through regulation, licensing, enforcement, training and education. The Legislature created the Department on February 1, 1994 by combining 40 state agencies, including the Department of Labor, the State Fire Academy, the Office of the State Fire Marshal, and 37 professional and occupational licensing boards.
