Recommendations for Crisis Stabilization Unit Documentation Standards

Abstract
This project exams recommendations for Crisis Stabilization Unit Documentation Standards. South Carolina has one licensed Crisis Stabilization Unit in the entire state. There is currently no reimbursement rate for a stay at a CSU; however, the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services is working to establish a daily bundled rate for the CSU with a projected implementation date of July 1, 2024. Once the daily rate has been established, clinical documentation standards will need to be in place that will require adherence to for receiving the reimbursement.
