Abstract
This research explores the history and archaeology of a portion of what became known as Mullet Hall Plantation and includes five archaeological sites: 38CH1541, 38CH1542, 38CH1543, 38CH2242, and 38CH2244, situated on the southern shore of Johns Island, adjacent to Mullet Hall Creek. These investigations are the result of compliance studies that began in 1994 and represent an initial phase of development of what is today being called Kiawah River Plantation.
