South Carolina Youth ChalleNGe Academy was established in 1998 as a quasi-military structured educational program operated through the Office of the Adjutant General under the National Guard Bureau. The Mission of South Carolina Youth ChalleNGe Academy is to empower and prepare youth to develop personal, academic, and career success through education, mentoring, and training.

    The South Carolina Youth Challenge Academy (SCYCA) Wellness Committee recognizes that cadet wellness and proper nutrition are related to their physical wellbeing, growth, development, and readiness to learn. SCYCA will maintain a Wellness Committee to address health and nutrition issues and update the Wellness Policy as needed.
