Publication 2017 West Nile Virus Events(South Carolina State Library, 2017-09-29) South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental ControlMost people get infected with West Nile virus by the bite of an infected mosquito. Mosquitoes become infected when they feed on infected birds. Infected mosquitoes can then spread the virus to humans and other animals. In a very small number of cases, West Nile virus has been spread through blood transfusions, organ transplants, and from mother to baby during pregnancy, delivery, or breastfeeding. Recovery from severe disease may take several weeks or months. Some of the neurologic effects may be permanent. About 10 percent of people who develop neurologic infection due to West Nile virus will die.Publication 2017 Flanders Virus Events(South Carolina State Library, 2017-08-25) South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental ControlThis map depicts, by county, the number of human cases of Flavivirus Virus cases in South Carolina in 2017.Publication 2017 Birds, Animals, and Mosquitoes Tested for Mosquito-Borne Viruses(South Carolina State Library, 2017-09-29) South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental ControlThese maps depict, by county, the number of birds, animals and mosquitoes tested for mosquito-borne viruses in South Carolina in 2017.Publication 2014 West Nile Virus Cases(South Carolina State Library, 2015-02-04) South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Bureau of LaboratoriesThis map depicts, by county, the number of bird, mosquito, animal and human cases of West Nile virus cases in South Carolina in 2014.Publication 2014 Flavivirus Virus Cases(South Carolina State Library, 2015-02-04) South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Bureau of LaboratoriesThis map depicts, by county, the number of human cases of Flavivirus Virus cases in South Carolina in 2014.Publication 2014 Flanders Virus Cases(South Carolina State Library, 2015-02-04) South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Bureau of LaboratoriesThis map depicts, by county, the number of mosquito pools carrying the Flanders Virus in South Carolina in 2014.Publication 2014 Eastern Equine Encephalitis Activity(South Carolina State Library, 2015-02-04) South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Bureau of LaboratoriesThis map depicts, by county, the number of animal cases of Eastern Equine Encephalitis in South Carolina in 2014.Publication 2014 Dengue Fever Virus Cases(South Carolina State Library, 2015-02-04) South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Bureau of LaboratoriesThis map depicts, by county, the number of human cases of Dengue Fever in South Carolina in 2014.Publication 2014 Chikungunya Virus Cases(South Carolina State Library, 2015-02-04) South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Bureau of LaboratoriesThis map depicts, by county, the number of human cases of Chikungunya in South Carolina in 2014.Publication 2014 Numbers Tested for Mosquito-Borne Viruses(South Carolina State Library, 2015-02-04) South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, Bureau of LaboratoriesThese maps depict, by county, the number of people, birds, animals and mosquitoes tested for mosquito-borne viruses in South Carolina in 2014.
