Abstract
The South Carolina Police Officers Retirement System (PORS) is a defined benefit retirement plan administered by the South Carolina Public Employee Benefit Authority for certain public safety and other employees of state agencies, public school districts, public higher education institutions and other local subdivisions of government that have joined PORS. This handbook provides a general introduction to PORS and its benefits.
