Abstract
The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control Board declared portions south of the fall line in Chesterfield, Kershaw and Richland counties, along with Clarendon, Lee, and Sumter counties, as the Santee-Lynches Capacity Use Area. The SLCUA Groundwater Management Plan (GMP) will guide the initial groundwater management strategy and provide direction for future groundwater management goals by evaluating, as data become available, the hydrologic, environmental, social, and economic impacts of groundwater withdrawals on long-term sustainable levels for SLCUA aquifers.
