Abstract
This project focuses on the results of the historical investigation of the evolution of map production at SCDOT that revolves around two major changing components: map production processes; and the customers and their expectations. It also evaluates some functions, resources and the mapping processes that are employed currently; identifies the changes that need to be put in place to meet the demands of the current and future customers; attempts to develop new processes and systems to enhance the effectiveness of the office functions; and looks at the problems within the process.
