Created in 1971, the Division of Administration within the South Carolina Office of the Governor served as the State Planning Agency for all functions vested in the Office of Governor. The Division advised the governor concerning public policy and wrote a series of reports in conjunction with local planning commissions on a variety of topics such as housing, land use, and zoning. The Division of Administration included an Office of Planning and Community Affairs Section.
