2011-04-122011-04-121985-11http://hdl.handle.net/10827/252The GREAT TOWN program (GREAT = GOVERNOR'S RURAL ECONOMIC ACHIEVEMENT TROPHY), initiated in 1976 by the South Carolina State Development Board, is a self-help program for communities with a population of less than 15,000. The towns voluntarily choose to enter the program and through broad community participation, achieve the standards of preparation excellence established by the State Development Board.
