2019-05-072019-05-072010-06http://hdl.handle.net/10827/30389The South Carolina Marine Game Fish Tagging Program has proven to be a useful tool for promoting the conservation of marine game fish and increasing public resource awareness. In addition, the program has provided biologists with valuable data on movement and migration rates between stocks, growth rates, habitat utilization, and mortality associated with both fishing and natural events. From 1978 to 2009, the number of tagged fish recoveries (recaptures) has followed a trend similar to the number of fish tagged, and the program’s overall recovery rate is around 9%. Tagged fish have been recovered as far north Connecticut, as far west as Texas, and as far south as Brazil.application/pdfDocumentCopyright status undetermined.
