Abstract
Description
One of the most controversial issues facing the juvenile justice system today is the problem of the status offender. Traditionally those juveniles who have not broken any laws, have been processed through the juvenile justice system in much the same way as criminal offenders. This age varies from 14 to 21. The trend has been to remove status offenders from the juvenile justice system. This paper studies the commitment comparison by counties and gives a sample study of status and criminal offenders by facility.
