Abstract
The Department of Social Services is required to perform a quadrennial review of Regulation 114-4710 through 114-4750, known as the Child Support Guidelines, pursuant to Sections 43-5-580(b) and 63-17-470(D) of the South Carolina Code of Laws in addition to 45 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Section 302.56. The Child Support Services Division of the South Carolina Department of Social Services organizes and oversees South Carolina’s quadrennial review of the Guidelines. The Guidelines are used to calculate the appropriate amount of child support to be paid and are used to review and adjust existing orders for support. South Carolina’s guidelines are based on the Income Shares Model, developed by the Child Support Guidelines Project of the National Center for State Courts
