Abstract
This Plan describes the role that science and technology education, research, innovation, and business can play in advancing the well-being and livelihoods of all South Carolinians regardless of race, gender, and geographic location. The Plan’s four categories for action (High-Tech Industry Growth; Innovation & Entrepreneurship; Research Competitiveness; and STEM Education) promise to be transformative in their impact. The Target Industry Sectors (Advanced Manufacturing; Human Health Life Sciences; Information Technology; and Clean Tech, Sustainability, and Resiliency) build upon the state’s existing areas of strength while positioning the state to meet the future needs of industry.
