Abstract
The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program is the leading source of funding to state and local jurisdictions to support a range of programs focusing on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the justice system. Every five years, a new comprehensive strategic plan must be submitted with the federal grant application, detailing the state’s funding priorities, how these priorities were identified, and how JAG is expected to be allocated within and among the nine program areas.
