Abstract
Description
This study is the result of the Education Oversight Committee's desire to better understand the relationship between various characteristics of South Carolina school districts and the districts’ degree of fiscal autonomy. Most importantly, the EOC wanted this research to focus on determining if the degree of fiscal autonomy impacts the level and growth of property taxes. Secondly, the EOC wanted to evaluate the relationship between fiscal autonomy and the performance of students.
