Abstract
This study reports on an intensive cultural resources survey of a 415 acre tract in the eastern portion of Charleston County, in Awendaw, South Carolina. The work, conducted for Mr. Tim Cook of Windmill Engineering Solutions, Inc., is meant to assist the client in complying with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act and the regulations codified in 36CFR800. The tract is to be used for the development of a neighborhood of single family homes. The survey area extends from Highway 17 at the south to the Wando River at the north. It consists of areas of mixed pine and hardwood forests, wetland, and fallow fields.
