Abstract
The No Surprises Act protects consumers from balance billing on certain types of care and services, as well as creates new requirements that apply to health insurance plans/issuers, healthcare providers (including air ambulance providers), and facilities regarding cost-sharing rules, notice and consent requirements, and requirements related to disclosures about balance billing protections. This Consumer Alert details what this new act means for you, and what to do if you receive a surprise balance bill.
