Abstract
The biometric screening is a frontline tool in both identifying and reducing the severity of chronic disease. Results from the screening help identify risks for hypertension (high blood pressure), hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol) and coronary artery disease. The preventive screening rate for PEBA members was 12.9% in 2023. This contrasts sharply with the percentage of these members who have been diagnosed with a chronic condition (40.8%). The purpose of this project is to understand what barriers exist to employers who have screening rates under the average and make suggestions on how to boost these screening rates.
