Abstract
This document is a work in progress of the African American Revolutionary Soldiers Honor Project. The information presented is preliminary and will evolve in light of new or corrected data. The purpose of this project is to identify: (1) South Carolina men of color (2) who were free at the time of their service and (3) who had verifiable military service during the Revolutionary War (1775-1783). For purposes of this research, South Carolina may be the birth place or residence of the Patriot, pre- or post-war years.
