Abstract
The objectives of this report are: 1. To estimate the microeconomic performance of representative owner/operators in the South Carolina shrimp trawler industry, under current conditions; 2. To simulate possible effects of the shrimp-baiting fishery on the economic viability of the South Carolina shrimp trawler industry; 3. To estimate the economic impacts of potential reductions in the South Carolina shrimp trawler fleet on the South Carolina coastal economy under scenarios of sustained reductions in commercial landings.
