The operational definition of violence included the following offenses: murder, negligent homicide, suicide, rape, forcible sodomy, sexual assault with an object, forcible fondling, robbery, aggravated assault and kidnapping. Information concerning suicide and justifiable homicide was also analyzed, but is not included in criminal offense totals.
