State organization founded to promote health and enhance the well-being of the residents of South Carolina, organized at least 1977-1985 and empowered in 1984 through Executive Order 83-234 to author a Health and Human Services Prevention Plan to make recommendations on the increased coordination of prevention activities throughout the state.
