This planning document will guide the direction of the South Carolina Forestry Commission’s state forests into the 21st century. The goal is for the state forests to be viewed as models for balanced operations. This long-range plan outlines how we plan to achieve these lofty goals on a statewide basis. Specific plans will be developed for each state forest following the concepts laid out here while recognizing the unique character of each site. Management tools described will apply to other tracts of Forestry Commission land too small to be managed as forests.Collections
