The South Carolina Department of Archives and History received an electronic records grant from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission. The final phase of the project involved an analysis of options for custody of digital records.The basic framework for any digital archives is the OAIS Reference Model, which was developed by the scientific community and has become an international standard. Therefore, this report will begin with a brief review of the components of the OAIS Reference Model applicable to the subject of custody. Next, the report will discuss the three options for custody. Finally, the report will present considerations in implementing the three custodial options.Collections
