OIR wants to understand the costs associated with installing and supporting the desktop components throughout their life cycle (the desktop "total cost of ownership"). The goal of this project is to identify what the desktop "total cost of ownership" is today, to identify better methods for managing and maintaining the desktop, and to ensure chargeback rates are as low as possible. Today's total cost of ownership will be evaluated and recommendations for implementing "best practices" will be completed by the end of the 1999 calendar year.Collections
