dc.description | The Region 8 (Beaufort) Environmental Quality Control office of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control covers the Counties of Beaufort, Jasper, Colleton and Hampton. Because of limited resources and budget constraints, it has been suggested that the Region 8 lab be closed. This project analyzes three separate scenarios: 1. Keep the Region 8 lab fully functional; 2. Close the Region 8 lab and drive the samples to the Region 7 lab (Charleston) or ship the samples to the Columbia lab via the State courier service and; 3. Maintain limited capabilities at the Region 8 lab. | |
