    This is a school directory for South Carolina, published for the 1978-1979 school year. The directory covers state, county, and local personnel as well as all South Carolina schools. Personnel information includes main addresses of institutions, individual names, and phone number indexes. The directory also includes alphabetical personnel, department, and service indexes for the State Department of Education. The directory lists county supervisors and superintendents, as well as United States supervisors, organized by state. It lists administrators such as personnel for the Technical and Comprehensive Education Board and the Higher Education Commissions. The directory includes a listing of vocational and federal schools, and lists personnel of organizations such as the South Carolina Education Association, the Parent-Teacher Congress, the Palmetto State Teachers Association, and the South Carolina Federation of Teachers. The directory lists colleges and college presidents, organized by state, private, and/or denominational institution and denoting the type of college (men-only, women-only, or co-ed). The directory also lists private schools and types and state-supported schools. The directory lists elementary and high schools, including contact information, and includes brief school statistics such as the numbers of students enrolled and numbers of teachers. The directory lists personnel for special services such as the Educational Television Network and concludes with an organizational chart of education in South Carolina.
