dc.description.abstractSouth Carolina Department of Social Services is responsible for the administration of funding through Titles IV-B and IV-E programs, the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act and the Chafee Foster Care Independence Program. The Department provides services in four regions that encompass 46 counties across the state. Within SCDSS, the Division of Child Welfare Services is the office responsible for state level administration and oversight of (1) adoption (2) child protective services (3) child abuse and neglect prevention (4) kinship and foster care (5) licensing foster homes and group homes and (6) family preservation services. The Annual Progress & Services Report (APSR) includes goals and activities required to receive Federal allotments.
