    This special legislative committee was created to investigate extending navigable channels on the Congaree River. The committee meetings received testimony from experts in the field of transportation and industrial development, agreeing that the opening the opening of the river is of primary importance to the future industrial growth of the industrially barren Central Portion of the State. This report includes a summary of the committee's findings, a discussion of the problems involved in developing commercial navigation on the Congaree River to the Midlands, three recommendations, and a summary of the activities of the committee since it's formation in 1959. This is the final report of this committee.
