    This special legislative committee was created to investigate extending navigable channels on the Congaree River. The committee meetings received testimony from experts in the field of transportation and industrial development, agreeing that the opening the opening of the river is of primary importance to the future industrial growth of the industrially barren Central Portion of the State. This report includes and updated estimation of the river's potential, general conclusions resulted from the committee's study, and committee recommendations to further proceed on the navigational possibilities of the Congaree River.
