This survey is part of the ongoing statewide inventory of South
Carolina's historic places. The statewide survey program is the cornerstone of the State Historic
Preservation Program. The survey program involves the identification of cultural
resources, the gathering of detailed data on these resources through historical research
and fieldwork and the analysis and organization of data recorded.
