dc.description.abstractThis 2020 South Carolina Epidemiologic Profile highlights current Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Sexually Transmitted Infection and STI data in the state showing geographic distinction, risk behaviors and how the ongoing epidemics of HIV and STIs affect different population groups. The information provided is intended to assist decision makers and stakeholders throughout the state to plan and develop a comprehensive, statewide HIV Prevention and Care Plan. The goal of the plan is a responsive, effective, and efficient continuum of services for persons living with HIV/AIDS and those at risk for HIV infection, and prevention and control of STIs.
