The Turkey Hunter Survey represents the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Section’s ongoing commitment to conduct pertinent research related to the state’s wild turkey population. The primary objectives of this survey research were to obtain valid estimates of; (1) the statewide spring gobbler harvest in 2020, (2) the harvest of gobblers in the constituent counties of the state, and (3) hunting effort related to turkeys. Information on hunter’s opinions of the turkey resource and other aspects of turkey hunting are also presented.
