dc.description.abstract | Reading coaches support teachers by providing ongoing professional development on best instructional practices in order to improve student achievement in literacy, and also work in classrooms alongside teachers to support all students. State-funded reading coaches are placed in districts and charter schools across the state. Coaches’ core responsibilities are teacher-focused: each week, they assist teachers with developing high-quality lesson plans, making adjustments to instruction, and analyzing student data. The following report includes statewide coach qualification data, funding allocations, information on reading coach responsibilities, and school-level placements by district. | |
