glucose, or blood sugar for energy. According to
the American Diabetes Association, people with
diabetes are at higher risk for gum disease, and
periodontal disease, a severe gum infection with
bone destruction. The presence of one condition
tends to promote the other and management of
either may assist treatment of the other
