SubjectArchaeological surveying--South Carolina--Marlboro County; Marlboro County (S.C.)--Antiquities
This study presents the results of an intensive archaeological survey of 132 acres in Marlboro County, South Carolina. The study area is located just south of Bennettsville adjacent to Crooked Creek. A previous reconnaissance level survey (Adams and Trinkley 1992) located four sites. Three of these were revisited while the fourth site could not be relocated. In addition to these sites, three new sites were identified. None of the remains in the project area are recommended as eligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places.
