dc.description.abstractWith 37 of South Carolina’s 46 counties home to automotive-related companies, the transportation equipment industry has played a central role in fueling South Carolina’s economy. Since 2000, new and expanding automotive-related companies invested $3.6 billion and created roughly 13,000 new jobs. South Carolina is committed to the ongoing success of its automotive sector. When automotive companies come to this state, they can be confident that South Carolina will respond with policies that encourage and support quality manufacturing, performance excellence, and long-term profitability.
