    This veto message from Governor Mark Sanford vetoes S. 573, R-82, a bill that increases the number of board members at Santee Cooper who must have "substantial work experience" with relation to cooperatives from one to two. It also creates liability against individual directors for failing to act "in the best interests of the Public Service Authority" among other things. Also the legislation requires all future appointments to the board must first be screened by the State Regulation of Public Utilities Review Committee before being considered for confirmation by the Senate.
