The availability of labor has been a major contributing factor in the industrial and business growth of South Carolina. The civilian labor force for April 2005 was 2,073,100. Migrating capital and industry have found the growing labor force to be highly attractive in terms of productivity and cost. As a result, most industries and businesses have continued to grow and prosper. The continual growth of area industries has helped provide some selection of jobs.
