dc.description.abstractFrom its inception, the mission of the Waccamaw Center for Historical and Cultural Studies is research and dissemination of studies in Southern history and culture, with a special emphasis on studies of the Waccamaw Region of South Carolina. Dissemination is made in the form of publications, presentations to professional meetings and to community groups, television production and appearances, sponsorship of lecture series and symposia, and other professional activities.
