    The objectives of the report are: To review current knowledge of Perkinsus marinus in South Carolina oyster populations; To discuss epizootiology of Perkinsus marinus (Dermo), especially with reference to water temperature and salinity; To review current knowledge of Haplosporidium nelsoni (MSX) in South Carolina oyster populations; To discuss these results, in conjunction with those observed previously in other states and finally; To summarize the potential implications of oyster diseases to management of the state s oyster resources, including relevant recommendations and current and future research directions.
