Description
This is a school directory for South Carolina, published for the 1964-1965 school year. The directory covers state, county, and local personnel as well as all South Carolina schools. Personnel information includes main addresses of institutions, individual names, and phone number indexes. The directory includes a listing of chief administrators and personnel for the State and County Boards of Education, the School Boards Association, State Department of Education, and the Regional Education Board. The directory also lists personnel for special school services like the Educational Television Center. The directory lists county supervisors, members of county boards of education, and county superintendents. It lists administrators such as personnel for the Educational Finance, the School Book, and the Technical Education Commissions. The directory includes a listing of visiting teachers, business schools, trade schools, and adult education teachers, attendance supervisors, and Veterans’ education supervisors. The directory lists personnel of organizations such as the South Carolina Education Association, the Parent-Teacher Congress, and the Palmetto Education Association. The directory lists superintendents by county and district as well as colleges and college presidents, organized by state, private, and/or denominational institution and denoting the type of college (men-only, women-only, or co-ed). The directory also lists non-public schools and types (state, private, or denominational).
