Abstract
This document contains a survey of public health conditions in South Carolina to explore the effects in various sectors of the communities including economic, social, educational and moral life. It investigated data collected from the Federal Bureau of the Census, the South Carolina Board of Health, the American Medical Directory, public health nurses, the American College of Surgeons and voluntary health organizations. Specifically it focused on the data of birth rates, death rates, the number of doctors and hospitals in South Carolina.
