This report reflects the results of a survey of juvenile correctional agencies in the Southeast concerning management of AWOL episodes and other security related issues. It would be beneficial to determine if neighboring states were experiencing problems similar to those of South Carolina in dealing with runaways from their institutional populations, and to obtain detailed information on preventive measures and actual apprehension procedures.
