DHHS presented a budget request of $185 million to House Ways and Means Committee. the Ways and Means budget proposal grants DHHS @ $57 million of its request in appropriated dollars. The W&M version also moves Silvercard to DHHS and funding for it is included at $23.2 million. The net result of the W&M action is that of the $185 million requested to maintain operation of the current program at current eligibility and service levels, they recommended @ $57 million. The W&M recommendation would also impact Medicaid funding to other state agencies, estimated reduction at $50 - $60 million. These include services at DMH, DDSN, DSS, DHEC, DJJ and school districts.Date
