This manual will presents those basic issues that will hopefully increase law enforcement's understanding of the problem of elder abuse and their role in correctly assessing and intervening in this type of domestic violence. The major thrust of this manual is to provide the first responder, and to some degree an investigator, with basic information that would cue him to the possible existence of elder abuse or neglect.
