Abstract
The parent survey was designed in 2001 to meet the requirements of the Education Accountability Act. The Parental Involvement in Their Children’s Education Act requires the Education Oversight Committee to “survey parents to determine if state and local efforts are effective in increasing parental involvement.” The tool that has been adopted by the EOC and administered by the South Carolina Department of Education to meet these statutory requirements is the annual parent survey.
