logoFounded in 1889, Clemson University is a public land-grant and sea-grant research university in Clemson, South Carolina. Clemson Agricultural College opened in July 1893 as an all-male military school with an enrollment of 446, and became a civilian coeducational school in 1955. It was renamed Clemson University in 1964.
